The Forty Frame Game ® is the world’s most unusual bowling tournament. It is a whole new bowl game! Created by proprietors in 1989, it is the fastest growing bowling tournament in the nation. More than 226,000 bowlers entered in the first 20 years and they took home more than 8.2 million dollars!
The bowling tournament is held at three (3) locations every year, January through July: 1) Toledo, Ohio, 2) Annual USBCBA site, and 3) Annual USBCWBA site. It is one continuous game forty frames long with unique scoring opportunities (and pitfalls!) that lead to a perfect score of 1305. And no, there has not been a perfect game bowled to date! Below is the frame by frame grid which gives a bird’s eye view of how the Forty Frame Game ® is played.

There is no plain frame in The Forty Frame Game! Normal scorekeeping and handicapping apply. There are also opportunities in each frame for Bonus Points, Free Strikes and Second Chance Strikes. To add to the excitement, “ Sour Grapes” frames present a special challenge: Non-strike first balls cause a loss of points!
Additional optional events are also offered including Woof-Woof Strikes, Big Ten Strikes, The Big Lucas and Doubles.
Make arrangements to take a shot at this fun and exciting new bowling format today. You will have a great time and you will cash. There are 10 ways to cash the day you bowl! Call us at 1-800-837-4010, or 419-537-9682
Annual prize money for the tournaments exceeds $500,000! In addition, top winners receive a free trip to the National Finals in November each year for an opportunity to compete for more cash prizes and the national championship.
National Championship
This event is held each year on the first or second weekend in November to determine a Forty Frame Game National Champion. The site is Sam’s Town Bowling Center in Las Vegas. There are four rounds of bowling starting Friday evening and ending on Sunday morning with six finalists going head to head for all the marbles in The Forty Frame Game Championship Round.
It is a fun event and another opportunity to win more dollars. Eligible finalists are the top winners from the Toledo (5), USBCBA (6), USBCWBA (4) plus any league champions who are sponsored by their bowling centers. All participants receive free transportation, lodging and meals. Guests are welcome at their own expense. It is a party atmosphere and an exciting conclusion to our Forty Frame Game season.
